Members' Appreciation Night 2025

The Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) held its annual Members’ Appreciation Night 2026 on 13 November at TPC (Tsao Pao Chee)/IMC Shipping’s office. We welcomed our members, partners, and friends for an evening of reflection, updates, and networking.

The event opened with remarks by SCMA Chairman Mr. Chao Hick Tin SC, who shared key developments over the past year. He highlighted SCMA’s continued growth in membership, the expansion of our international outreach across Asia and beyond, and the strengthening of partnerships with institutions through various Memoranda of Understanding. The Chairman also touched on SCMA’s work in industry development, including our role as Secretariat for the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot (IMLAM), our Perspectives Seminar Series, and the progress of our specialist workgroups on ammonia, methanol, and cybersecurity.

As part of SCMA’s digitalisation efforts, Chairman introduced the SCMA Vault, an online repository tool developed in collaboration with Epiq to support secure and efficient case file management for SCMA arbitrators. A presentation by Tom Bennett-Mitrovski and Benedict Chia from Epiq followed, showcasing the functions and benefits of the new platform.

Guests also enjoyed a food introduction by Jeremy Nguee, Culinary Director at OCTAVE Culinary, before an evening of networking and conversations among industry peers.
