Judith Prakash is an independent arbitrator and mediator. She is also a Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore, an appointment she has held since January 2024, following her retirement as Justice of the Court of Appeal of Singapore.
Called to the Singapore Bar in 1975, Judith Prakash practiced commercial law primarily in the areas of shipping, finance, insurance and commercial transactions between 1975 and 1992. She joined the bench of the Supreme Court in 1992 and served in the High Court until appointed to the Court of Appeal in 2016. Judith Prakash heard the whole gamut of civil cases during her years on the bench. She was particularly interested in arbitration law, insurance, international commercial transactions and shipping and delivered many judgments in these areas.
Since becoming an independent arbitrator in 2024, Judith Prakash has sat on tribunals conducting arbitrations under the auspices of the SCMA, the LCIA, the LMMA, the ICC and the SIAC.
