I have been a practising lawyer, judge and part time academic for forty years. During that time I have practised in commercial law with a speciality in Admiralty, maritime and shipping. As a judge for 20 years, I was one of the specialised Admiralty judges in the Federal Court and wrote a significant number of important shipping and arbitration judgments along with many commercial and insurance judgements. While practising, with others I designed and taught maritime law to post graduate students at the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland. Back
