27 Years of experience in Commercial Dry Bulk

Barkin Yazicioglu has had 27 years of experience in dry bulk shipping and has had intensive exposure to European and Asian markets with an extensive network of people including shipowners, charterers, operators, shipbrokers, cargo interests, financial institutions, PandI clubs, underwriters, brokers, legal firms, ship managers, crewing agencies, shipping agents, bunker and oil suppliers, dry docks. He is currently heading the Singapore office of Auto Chartering S.A., a commodity broker involved in coal, cement and clinker shipments.

Despite his degree in a technical area, he started commercial shipping in 1994 as an operating executive in Istanbul in Zihni offices, overlooking Bosphorus in style.

After Zihni he joined Kalkavan Shipping for another 2 years sting to gain experience both in chartering, legal and operational side of business.

Next 7 years he spent at Cerrahgil Group in charge of Capesize and Panamax vessels and contracts until 2005.

Call of Asia was too strong to resist and he headed to Singapore in July 2005 to join Kuok Group’s PCL Shipping.

Thereafter his experience was mainly on building new business and structures in the form of establishing Eagle Bulk Pte Lte, Caria Shipping as owners/operators and finally Vector Bulkers Pte Ltd as consultant and broker.
