Robert Lindsay Gordon

Lindsay Gordon is the Principal Consultant of Gordon Marine & Company Limited.

He has served with various shipping companies from 1959 to 1973, sailed in cargo, reefer and passenger vessels. Sailed as Chief Engineer and holds a 1st Class Combined Steam & Motor Certificate.

Lindsay joined Lloyd’s Register of Shipping as an exclusive surveyor – abroad and in head office. Whilst with Lloyd’s Register he attended courses on General Engineering, Non Destructive Testing, Fuel Oil Bunkers (FOBAS) and spent time in the Machinery Design Appraisal & Plan Approval Department, Marine and Offshore postings.

Lindsay has been responsible for the technical management of two tanker fleets and two offshore supply vessels. He became a consultant, representing various class societies over 10 years (ABS, KR, RINA, DNV), The Salvage Association, Bahamas Government (Marine) and statutory authorities.

In 2002 Lindsay became the principal consultant of Gordon Marine & Company Ltd. The company specialises in litigation work.

Lindsay has been a Full Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) since 2003.Back
