Individuals and Companies involved in the maritime industry are encouraged to become members and shape the development of SCMA.
The cost is nominal at USD200 / SGD300 per year for individual membership and USD800 / SGD1,200 per year for corporate membership.
Members are able to shape the development of SCMA through voting, giving comments or through participation in committees, meetings and member forums.
Individual Members will have their name and contact details on the SCMA website which will be advantageous for networking.
Corporate Members will have the right to two representatives and also to have a company profile, logo, contact details and website link on the SCMA website.
We will seek to obtain discounts for SCMA members on the use of arbitration facilities at Maxwell Chambers in Singapore, certain publications, conferences and other events.
In due course, a members' private section of the website will be constructed, which might include such things as members' forum for exchange of contacts, ideas and information.
Membership will renew on 1 January each year. The first year's membership will run through to the end of 2010 and therefore will not need renewing until 1 January 2011.
Members can be from any country and can include: arbitrators, lawyers, experts, ship owners, ship managers, ship charterers, ship brokers, ship agents, bunker suppliers, shipyards, ship repairers, port authorities, terminal operators, cargo owners, commodity traders, cargo insurers, P&I insurers, hull insurers, insurance brokers, ship financiers, academics and any other business that may wish to use or contribute to the development of SCMA.
